January 18, 2026 Update

Alright, my first update! I wanted to post sooner, but you know how it is. I'm happy to report I got off to a great start this year: I finished 8 squares for my brown blanket! (Though one was nearly complete at the start of the year, so it counts a bit less.)

The second week was less productive since I was traveling. Then I got back home and had to prepare to travel again. So I'm actually writing this update from a plane right now.

Since this project is all individual squares, it travels well at this stage. Hopefully I can finish a square or two this week while I'm away, but it will be busy, so I can only do my best.

The last square I finished was my first of three for the August (ripples) square. It's not a fast one for me—picking up the back loop of slip stitches in the previous row takes patience and effort. The next two squares I'll make with this pattern use lighter colored yarn, which should help me see the loops more easily than with the darker yarn.

Here is a pile of all my finished squares so far!
